Lowa Size Guide

Fit recommendation
For the best possible fit, we recommend starting with your normal UK boot size. However, if you are unsure, get in contact with us, or visit a store to get your feet measured
The below can be used as a guide if you're not sure on your boot size, and need guidance with where to start - it is best to measure the length of your foot when stood up. Due to individual foot shapes or preferences in fit this recommendation may vary. We also offer some boots in wide and narrow fitting options.
LOWA boots are made in UK sizes (not EU) and are true to size. Most people buy their normal footwear size, however, we do offer free returns for peace of mind if the fit isn't quite right.

Specifications
The Alpine Expert II GTX Ws is a reliable and robust winter mountaineering, ready to take you on all your cold weather adventures. Primaloft 400g insulation provides excellent warmth across the whole foot, while the Gore-Tex lining provides the ultimate barrier to all weather conditions. Thanks to the LOWA Flexfit, feet can roll more effectively and naturally as the upper of a hiking boot can bend more easily, saving energy and increasing comfort. The boots eyelets have been repositioned, and a flexible lace hook has been used too that improves heel comfort and facilitates bending. The Vibram ALP TRAC® ICE sole unit has been optimised for use in high alpine terrain, with a high tread depth and Vibram rubber compound combining to providing solid grip, while the climbing zone at the front ensures precision grip. The sturdy midsole means the Alpine Expert II is compatible with automatic crampons.
Sizes 4 - 9 Size Type UK Width Medium Weight 1550g Upper Suede, Fabric Lining Gore-Tex, Primaloft 400g Outsole VIBRAM® ALP TRAC® ICE Resolable Yes Technology
Highly breathable, durably waterproof lining material. Keeps feet pleasantly dry and offers optimised climate comfort for a broad range of outdoor activities.
Premium synthetic insulation, with a fill weight of 400 g/m².
Vibram® has been one of the leading brands of high-quality soles for many years, offering a variety of rubber blends and sole units to cover each boots specific end use requirements.
This product can be resoled by a specialist (in the UK we recommend Lancashire Sports Repairs). They're constructed in a way where the upper of the footwear is retained, and a new sole can be added to it.
Particularly rigid, the midsole will remain firm even when subjected to stress.
Independently adjustable lacing zones, one on the forefoot and one on the upper, for an improved individualised fit and better adjustments for personal comfort and different foot anatomy.
Patented LOWA technology holds the tongue in place both vertically and horizontally. This prevents slippage, reducing pressure points or blisters. The X-Lacing ensures that the pressure of the laces is transferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.
To ensure that the laces run flexibly and smoothly through the eyelets, small roller balls minimise friction in the metal loops and provide easy lacing.
The sole is designed in a way so it adapts to the anatomical contours of the foot, increasing comfort and preventing fatigue.
The overall height of the midsole is kept to a bare minimum, reducing space to the ground providing natural feel, grip and stability on all terrain.
Toe area of the shoe is designed in such a way that the distance to the rock is kept to a bare minimum, to create a good feel between your toes and the rock.
To reduce the stress caused every time the foot is planted, and make heel support more comfortable, a heel cushion was developed for the shank as a way of creating a pleasant walking sensation.
Each lace hook is affixed to separate soft leather or textile trim, which will move independently to create a more individualised fit for the foot. It prevents pressure points on specific areas, while maintaining the tongues optimum position.
Easier ankle movement due to integrated "FlexZone" and flexible Lace Loop. This saves energy and increases comfort.
This flat support zone under the toes makes easy scrambling possible thanks to a more secure foot placement.
A special form of heel rubber is attached using tension, creating a Slingshot effect which provides stability and generates a powerful restoring force.
With a pronounced rear and front welt, the boot's can take a fully automatic crampon
Women's specific last, designed with the anatomy of women's feet in mind, with a differently shaped instep and area around the ball of the foot.
